What is AKA Training?
AKA Training provides practical Shopify training to help you create, manage and grow your online store. Choose from personalised 1-on-1 sessions, small group training, workshops around Perth or virtual training.
Do I need any experience with Shopify?
No. Our training is suitable for beginners, including people who have never used Shopify before. We explain each step in plain language and help you build confidence as you learn.
What can I learn?
Training can cover setting up your store, choosing and customising a theme, adding products and collections, creating pages, setting up navigation, managing orders and understanding apps. We can also introduce website SEO and preparing your store for launch.
Can I get help with an existing Shopify store?
Yes. You can use your training session to learn how to manage your existing store, make changes and work through areas you find confusing. Bring a list of questions or tasks you would like to focus on.
What is included in 1-on-1 training?
1-on-1 training gives you dedicated time with a trainer, with the session focused on your experience, business and goals. You can ask questions as you go and work through tasks relevant to your own store.
Can I book training with a friend or colleague?
Yes. Our small group training accommodates up to three people in a two-hour session. It is a useful option for business partners or team members who want to learn together.
How do the Shopify workshops work?
Our workshops run at selected locations around Perth on Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm. Each workshop accommodates up to 10 participants, with morning tea included at 10:30am.
How much does a workshop cost?
Workshops cost $150 per person for a four-hour session, including morning tea. Check the workshop listing for the available dates, location and topics covered.
Do you offer online training?
Yes. Virtual training gives you the chance to learn remotely, ask questions and receive guidance while working on your store. It costs $120 per hour.
What should I bring to a workshop?
Bring your laptop, charger and your Shopify login details if you already have a store.
Can I work on my own website during training?
Yes. Where appropriate, you can apply what you learn directly to your own Shopify store. This helps you practise relevant tasks and understand how to repeat them independently.
Are Shopify subscriptions, domains and apps included?
Training fees cover your training session. Shopify subscriptions, domain registration, paid themes and paid apps are separate purchases.
Will the training help my website appear on Google?
We can explain basic SEO practices, including page titles, meta descriptions, website content and image descriptions. Search rankings depend on many factors, so a particular position on Google cannot be guaranteed.
How do I choose the right training option?
Choose 1-on-1 training for personalised guidance, small group training to learn with colleagues, a workshop for a structured group session, or virtual training for remote learning.
